Crispy Air Fryer Tofu (with Sweet Chili Sauce)

This air fryer tofu is perfectly crispy and coated in a deliciously spicy sweet chili sauce. One of the easiest and most flavorful ways to make tofu at home!

Tofu is such a versatile protein that even meat eaters like ourselves love to eat from time to time. Using the air fryer makes it easy to get perfectly crispy and delicious bites of tofu every time with way less mess and fat than using a deep fryer or pan frying.

Coated with a blend of garlic and onion powders, salt, and white pepper, each tofu cube is air-fried for an irresistible crispy texture. While the crispy coating is enough to make us crave this tofu, the sweet chili sauce takes it over the top. A mix of rice wine vinegar, Sambal Oelek, and soy sauce, thickened to a glazed perfection.

Ingredients:
Crispy Tofu
  • 16 ounce block extra firm tofu
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Sambal Oelek
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 minced garlic clove (about 3/4 teaspoon)
Total Time:
15 minutes
