Nutella Cake

This Nutella Cake is six layers of pure decadence! Delicious chocolate cake layers, Nutella buttercream, and Nutella ganache.
My Raffaello Cake got me thinking about my Ferrero Rocher cake from a couple years ago and about how delicious Nutella is and how I need another Nutella recipe on the blog. This time, I’m pairing a silky Nutella Swiss meringue buttercream with classic chocolate cake layers and a delicious Nutella ganache.

Ingredients:
Chocolate Cake
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder sifted
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup buttermilk room temperature
- 3/4 cup hot water or hot coffee
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Nutella Swiss Meringue Buttercream
- 6 large egg whites
- 2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 cups unsalted butter cubed, room temperature but still cool
- 3/4 cup Nutella
Nutella Ganache
- 3/4 cup Nutella
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Assembly
- chopped hazelnuts (optional)
