Strawberry Milkshake

Strawberry Milkshake

Is there anything better than a strawberry milkshake? Cold, creamy, so thick that your straw stands straight up, and filled with juicy berries. Nothing quite hits the spot like an old-fashioned strawberry shake.

As a kid, every spring/early summer my Dad would buy a HUGE flat of strawberries in this local fundraiser. The day that we brought it home, we’d spend the morning hauling strawberries that needed to be frozen. And then it would be time for strawberry milkshakes.

The strawberry fundraiser was always one of the best signs of summer. We’d come home and gorge ourselves on bright red, juicy berries. And it also meant that there was a supply of frozen strawberries for milkshakes for weeks.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb strawberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

10 minutes
