Homemade Ginger Brew (Immunity Shots)

This homemade Ginger Brew is simple to make and bursting with healthy immune-boosting ingredients. Use it to help ease nausea or soothe upset stomachs and sore throats. Make the healthy syrup, then make hot Ginger Tea or cold Ginger Beer and sip away!

Ginger Brew syrup is the perfect thing for easing colds, sore throats, and nausea, and for boosting immunity. As my grandad used to say, “It cures what ails ya!”

Made with ginger, lemon, honey, cinnamon and cayenne pepper, it’s jam packed with healthy ingredients and TONS of flavor.

It’s lightly sweet with a zesty kick of spice, and it gives a “good” kind of burn in your throat.

I like to make up a batch of the syrup, then mix with seltzer to make homemade ginger beer. And this ginger be er one isn’t loaded with sugar like all the other ginger ales and ginger brews out there.

On cooler days, I mix with hot water to make the most lovely Ginger Tea. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even make a copycat immunity shooter (by drinking it straight!) or indulge in a Hotty Toddy.

Ginger Brew Syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 Tablespoon lemon juice about 1/2 lemon
  • 3 Tablespoon honey or sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon zest from about 1/4 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoons ground cayenne pepper optional
