Thai Beef Nachos

Thai beef nachos — ground beef is seasoned with garlic, ginger and soy sauce, with a hint of brown sugar for sweetness, then topped with peanut sauce in these unique and delicious nachos.

If you’re a fan of both Mexican and Thai food, you’re going to love how their flavors combine in these amazing Thai Beef Nachos. And these nachos are absolutely delicious! This recipe was inspired by a version of nachos served by a local food truck, although they used ground pork in their recipe. After recreating the nachos at home with both pork and beef, we decided we like the beef version better. I’m so glad I figured out how to make these nachos at home, because sadly the food truck that served them is no longer around.

Really the main difference in these nachos and more traditional nachos is the choice of seasonings. The ground beef in this recipe is seasoned with garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, brown sugar and soy sauce. And of course, the toppings are a little different too. Instead of cheese and jalapenos, this Thai-style version of nachos is topped with peanut sauce, green onions, cilantro and sesame seeds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

FOR THE TOPPINGS

  • Prepared Thai peanut sauce
  • Chopped green onions
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • Sesame seeds
