Fruit Dip
Fruit might be tasty on its own, but sometimes you just want that little extra kick. This simple fruit dip uses sweetened cream cheese to give any fruit or fruit platter a little bit of extra flavor and sweetness. It is really amazing how much cream cheese can single handily improve the flavor of whatever you put it with. Whether it’s using it as the main ingredient in a pie or just slathering it on any type of bagel, cream cheese is a little bit magical.
That’s what this simple recipe for fruit dip only uses three things: cream cheese packed brown sugar and a bit of vanilla extract for added flavor. You honestly don’t really need anything else. Obviously, this fruit dip goes really well with fruit, but what fruit?
This is a very simple recipe and thus works really well with a variety of different fruits, each of which will enjoy the cream cheese differently.
A great classic is apples, but you actually don’t want to go for the most conventionally enjoyed eating apples if you pair it with your fruit dip. Most eating apples are really, really sweet, which might end up being too sweet when combined with your dip. Instead, go for the lesser enjoyed, slightly more tangy apples, like Granny Smith or even Braeburn. You could go more exotic with some kiwi fruits that have been peeled and sliced. Or, stick to a comforting favorite and use some red grapes to help color contrast with all of that green fruit!
Ingredients:
