Avocado Crema

This avocado crema is the perfect topping for your favorite Mexican foods like tacos, nachos and burritos. Made with a handful of fresh ingredients, it takes 5 minutes to make and is a great way to add creamy flavor to so many dishes. We are big fans of Mexica food here, whether it’s tacos, chili, burritos or quesadillas. I just love the bold flavors from this cuisine.

This avocado crema recipe is the perfect accompaniment to all of these dishes. It’s creamy and cooling and adds a wonderful brightness of flavor to help balance out the spices. Super versatile, it’s great on my blackened salmon tacos and baked chicken fajitas. This avocado sauce can be made up to 2 days in advance. The acid in the lime juice helps to prevent the avocado from browning. After that you will see a change in color. Store it covered in the fridge until you are ready to use it, or you can freeze it in small batches and thaw them as you need them. As well as a topping for your favorite Mexican mains, this avocado sauce can also be served as a dip or as a sandwich or wrap spread. It’s great drizzled over roasted vegetables and sweet potato fries. I’m sure you’ll find a use for it!
