Soft Sugar Cookies with Almonds

Ingredients:
- 2 ¾ Cup All-Purpose Flour – spooned & leveled (328 grams)
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- ¾ tsp Cream of Tartar
- ½ tsp Kosher Salt
- 1 Cup Unsalted Butter – softened to room temperature
- 1 ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar – plus more for rolling cookies
- 1 large Egg + 1 Large Egg Yolk – at room temperature
- 2 tsp Almond Extract
- Almond Glaze:
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar - leveled & sifted
- 3 TBS Milk, Cream or Half-and-Half
- 2 TBS Light Corn Syrup
- ½ tsp Almond Extract
- Sliced Almonds – optional for decorating
