Ingredients:

- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 whole cloves
For one drink
- 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon simple syrup
- 3-4 dashes Angostura bitters or orange bitters
- 1 strip orange peel, about 2 inches long
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 3 ounces apple cider
- Ice
- Apple slices, optional for garnish
