Hungarian Farsangi Fánk

I grew up enjoying Hungarian Farsangi Fánk (carnival doughnuts), and now you too can enjoy them at home! That may be a good thing or a bad thing because they’re absolutely addictive!

These authentic Hungarian doughnuts are light and fluffy and not as sugary as store-bought doughnuts.

Homemade doughnuts are easier than you think. This recipe is super easy to follow with minimal ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4 tsp. (one package) active dry yeast
  • 2 cups milk, warmed to about 110 degrees
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 5 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5 1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • canola oil for frying
  • confectioners' sugar for sprinkling
Prep Time:
30 minutes
Cook Time:
70 minutes
Total Time:
175 minutes
