Easy Cajun Dirty Rice

One-pan Cajun dirty rice with pork, beef, and bold spices. Easy, budget-friendly, and loaded with Louisiana flavor!

Why is it called “dirty” rice? The rice gets brown as it cooks with meat, Cajun spices, and the holy trinity of Cajun cooking: onion, bell pepper, and celery. My version combines ground pork and beef for a flavorful twist on this Louisiana classic!

Ingredients:
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 1 small diced onion about ½ cup
  • 1 diced green bell pepper about 1 cup
  • 2 stalks diced celery about 1 cup
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups long-grain rice uncooked
  • 3 ½ cups beef broth
  • salt to taste

Cajun Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
