Apple Cardamom Galette
With a flaky crust and a melt-in-your-mouth apple filling, this Apple Cardamom Galette has all the delicious fall flavors of a pie with 10x less work!
Guys, we made it. After a never-ending scorcher of a summer, the temperatures are finally starting to drop. The leaves are starting to change, and you can almost sense the crisp fall feeling in the air. My favorite season is here!
In honor of it being the wonderful fall day, we are celebrating with the most epic of fall desserts: an apple cardamom galette. And if you've never made a galette before, then you are in for a treat!
Ingredients:
Pastry Crust
- 1 ¼ cups (164g) all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons (7g) granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon (5g) salt
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, cut into ½-inch cubes
- ¼ cup (54g) ice water
Apple Cardamom Filling
- 2-3 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced into ¼-inch slices
- ¼ cup (50g) light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon (1g) cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon (1g) ground cardamom
- 1 tablespoon (19g) honey
Egg Wash
- 1 egg (50g)
- 1 tablespoon (15g) milk
- ¼ teaspoon (2g) salt
