Ingredients:
For the steak:
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef
- 1/4 cup (30 g) breadcrumbs
- 1 large (1 ) egg
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) mustard powder
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) kosher salt
- lots fresh ground black pepper , or to taste
- 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) cooking oil , for searing beef patties
For the Mushroom Gravy
- 3 tablespoons (30 g) butter
- 8 ounces (227 g) mushrooms , sliced
- 1 (1 ) medium onion , sliced
- 2 cloves (2 cloves) garlic , minced
- 1/4-1/2 cup (30-60 g) flour , depending on how thick you like your gravy
- 3 cups (720 ml) broth (beef, chicken or vegetable)
- kosher salt or sea salt , or to taste
- black pepper to taste
