Italian Chopped Salad Sandwich

A fresh and delicious chopped salad, complete with several meats, cheeses, and vegetables, tossed with a zippy creamy Italian dressing, and served in soft hoagie rolls. Such a fun way to enjoy a salad!

I love a great salad, especially in the summer! All that heat and humidity means I’m longing for something cool and refreshing; that doesn’t involve me turning on my oven.

Lately I’ve seen quite a few absolutely delicious-looking salad ideas on tiktok, and one that sparked my interest was the chopped salad sandwich.

It sounds a bit weird, to have a salad in a sandwich, but once you try it, you understand how it got as popular as it did on social media!

If you think about it, when you go out to dinner at a restaurant and get an entree salad, sometimes it comes with a breadstick.

So bread and salad have been good bedfellows for a while now, and this is just the next step!

Ingredients:
Salad sandwich
  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices deli-sliced ham
  • 4 slices salami
  • 4 slices large pepperoni
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions
  • 1/4 cup banana pepper rings pepperoncini rings will also work well
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Creamy Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp dried Italian seasoning

Prep Time:
15 minutes
Total Time:
15 minutes
