I don’t remember when or how I started making this Kentucky Derby Day Pie, but I’ve had the recipe for years now and it’s hands down my favorite pie ever. It’s also the most requested dessert at home because it’s that good. Seriously. I’ve also had several family members request it as a birthday dessert instead of birthday cake.

- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- 1 stick butter melted
- 1 cup pecans chopped small
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 unbaked 9" pie shell / or make your own crust
